Check Point Research has published details of vulnerabilities in LiteLLM, an open-source gateway used to connect applications to multiple AI providers. The research describes a chain that could enable server-side request forgery, arbitrary file access, remote code execution, and broad compromise when affected conditions are present.
AI gateways often hold provider credentials, route model traffic, and can reach internal services. Treat a LiteLLM deployment as a high-value control plane. Review the technical guidance, identify exposed instances, restrict administrative access, and update to the vendor-fixed release. Egress controls and least-privilege service identities can limit impact.
Inspect gateway configuration for potentially reachable credentials, rotate keys where exposure cannot be ruled out, and review logs for unusual outbound requests, configuration changes, or access to local files.
