SonicWall has released fixes for four SMA1000 vulnerabilities, including a pre-authentication server-side request forgery issue rated CVSS 10.0. The company said the flaws were not known to be exploited at the time of the report.

Internet-facing access appliances are high-priority patch targets because they often sit at a boundary between untrusted networks and internal services. Administrators should identify SMA1000 deployments, review the vendor advisory, schedule the relevant updates, and verify installed versions after maintenance.

Where patching cannot be immediate, restrict administrative exposure, review outbound connectivity from appliances, and increase logging around authentication and management interfaces. Follow-up should include a check for unusual requests or configuration changes during the exposure window.
